In a public-private partnership, the Department
of Transport, Putco and ComutaNet embarked on a national awareness
campaign. The objective strives to reduce road fatalities particularly
by encouraging pedestrians not to walk on roads after consuming
alcohol, to be seen whilst walking, to buckle up and to ultimately
“Arrive Alive”.
The twelve month campaign is tapping into ComutaNet’s
ability to reach over 17 million South African commuters and
maximise the “Arrive Alive” message using 3 000
Putco buses to carry interior advertising encouraging commuters
to “Sober Up”, “Buckle Up” and “Be
Seen”.
“Road accidents are a major cause of death in South Africa
and an issue to be addressed aggressively. ComutaNet welcomes
the opportunity to add value to commuters’ lives by educating
them on the potential dangers of the road.
