On Sunday 8 May,
702landers soaked up the autumn sun with Talk Radio 702 and
BP Express at the Johannesburg Zoo for the annual Mother's Day
Concert at the Zoo.
This firm family favourite has
been an annual event on 702’s calendar since 1991 and
once again proved a special day for the family. Patrons brought
picnic baskets and blankets and enjoyed the entertainment on
offer for both adults and kids.
Under the baton of the renowned orchestra

Orchestra entertained
the crowds with popular classics. Soloists Ian Von Memerty,
Prince Lengoasa and Vicky Goddard performed hits like Ain't
That a Kick in the Head, Fly Me to the Moon, Mr Bojangles and
many more.
All proceeds from the concert were
donated to the Johannesburg Zoo. Listeners who attended the
concert donated unused clothes and blankets to the Salvation
Army.
A big thank you to our sponsors BP Express and all the
listeners who made this years concert such a success.
See if you can spot 702's Stephen Grootes,
Tom London and Docky Dockrat in the crowd...
