The former government's chemical and biological expert, Dr Wouter Basson, addressed a media conference live on 567 Cape Talk on Tuesday, September 13. Journalists and photographers were allowed to question Basson – which was broadcast live. Basson reacted to the Constitutional Court ruling handed down last Friday. He also answered questions on his past and spoke about his future plans and related issues.

The press conference was a phenominal success with media coverage received on e.tv, SABC 2 and 3, local community radio stations, SABC radio, Kfm 94.5, 702, 94.7, Cape Argus, Cape Times, Die Burger and will be covered in community newspapers in the weeks to come. Local media agencies Reuters and SAPA were also in attendance.
