Building on last year's Soup-er Day, where ComutaNet sold piping hot butternut soup sponsored by Spar, complete with a fresh bread roll and branded thermal mug for R10 each at leading media agencies, raising money for charity, ComutaNet recently repeated the exercise. Through industry support the ComutaNet initiative raised R10 000 for the Diepsloot Methodist Church's Akani School. Volunteers at the church feed about 400 Diepsloot squatter camp children, which is often their only meal of the day, and R10 000 helps immensely. ComutaNet also gave the church a jungle gym for the children to use at the church for exercise and entertainment. Adding value to its contribution, ComutaNet executives set aside a full day to entertain the children cared for by the Methodist Church Akani School bringing in clowns and staging a concert on a ComutaNet Roving Stage trailer. |
Competitions, with awesome prizes, fun, and music preceded a feast sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) with cold drinks sponsored by Coca-Cola.
"We thank everyone involved who helped us make this a 'Soup-er' event. With your generosity and assistance, ComutaNet brought some laughter and joy to the children of Diepsloot," says Kevin Kirby, ComutaNet's Group Marketing Manager. |
