Today, tomorrow, Christmas! It feels like only
yesterday I was seeing the new-year in and I’m sure you’ll agree!
The pace at which business operates seems to increase every
year, leaving less and less time to see the proverbial wood
from the trees. This, combined with the fact that the challenges
facing businesses are escalating in both their number and their
complexity, makes it that much more difficult to remain successful
in our ever demanding business environment.
To remain competitive in this playing field, decision makers
need to be making more and more informed decisions on a more
and more frequent basis – decisions which need to stand up to
scrutiny, given the significant increase in the onus placed
on directors’ as custodians of the various stakeholders’ interests.
The key ingredient needed by these decision makers in their
decision making process is knowledge. One doesn’t want to fall
into the trap of being data rich and knowledge poor - you need
to be extracting true insights from the multitudes of data collected
and housed by both your organisation and external organisations.
But knowledge in itself isn’t sufficient – it also needs to
comprehensive, accurate and timely. Companies which have adapted
their business processes to take advantage of timeous, value-adding
business intelligence are those which will experience the next
business age – those that don’t, well, it has been said: “Change
isn’t compulsory – after all, survival isn’t mandatory.”

“Helping our clients understand their customers, markets and
channels better to leverage and enhance business performance,”
is Knowledge Factory’s value proposition and one which encapsulates
many of the opportunities of the current information age as
sketched in the backdrop above. But our value proposition and
the ability to deliver on it does not result in a sustainable
business – it is our valued clients who continue to utilise
us for their business intelligence needs and who regularly entrust
us with key elements of their businesses and strategies that
do. A sincere thank-you for allowing us to partner with you
and for utilising us in our fields of expertise – it is ultimately
through your opportunities and challenges and the new thinking
required to benefit from them, that ensures our people continue
to grow and remain leaders in our ever-advancing industry.
Wishing you a very prosperous festive season from everyone
at Knowledge Factory – travel safely and enjoy doing the things
that you never quite make the time to do during the year!
