| PRIMEDIA OUTDOOR BRIEFS AAA STUDENTS ON
THE OUTDOOR INDUSTRY!
Primedia Outdoor, wholly South African owned outdoor
advertising media owner, understands that education and exposure
in today's competitive advertising industry is vital to nurture
young talent. Recognising the necessity and importance of the theoretical
and practical experience required by students on the verge of entering
the industry, Primedia Outdoor lectured AAA students on outdoor
as an advertising medium. Dashni Naidu, Marketing Manager, Primedia
Outdoor, gave students an all-inclusive tutorial on “all
you need to know” about outdoor, ranging from its
history, to the when, what, why and how of outdoor, the outdoor
measurement programs, the local and international trends, creativity
on outdoor, planning outdoor, outdoor and other media and other
key information.
Dashni drew on her all-round knowledge and experience gained whilst
a media strategist to achieve a holistic approach to the lecture.
The wide-ranging presentation was segmented into each aspect of
outdoor, and highlighted the different types of “out of home”
media, freely gave market specifics, how to make outdoor more accountable,
and detailed the GPS system and outdoor measurement tools being
implemented. The students proved keen to learn and absorb as much
as possible about the industry that the interaction proved to be
of such depth.

Says Wendy Carruthers, AMASA lecturer who also compiles
the course material, “The students found the lecture informative,
fascinating, and extremely interesting. They can’t wait to
put their theoretical knowledge "into practice". Primedia
Outdoor is going an ‘extra mile’ and will be taking
students on an outdoor Gauteng experience to reinforce the lecture.
This will equip them with an excellent strategic understanding of
outdoor and how it fits into the overall marketing mix.”
“There are many ways organisations can assist in developing
young talent and the AAA lecture presented Primedia Outdoor with
an excellent platform to educate and engage students on the outdoor
and media industry. The intention was to show the students what
outdoor entails – the processes, how outdoor fares with other
media, creativity and messaging, Share of Voice and how outdoor
fits into the overall marketing mix. The lecture provided valuable
insights and a comprehensive overview into outdoor operations and
a glimpse of what students can expect when they enter the workplace”,
comments Naidu.
We are keen on continuing our support to hosting AAA students
at Primedia Outdoor to understand further the day to day process
of outdoor.
We have hosted a number of institutions and are still continuing
to grow the knowledge of outdoor comments Naidu.
